Get Involved

Be part of the Circuit of Bath — however you choose.

The Circuit of Bath is more than a challenge.

Whether you take part, support a team, or volunteer on the day, every contribution helps make the event possible and supports the work of Julian House.

Ready to Take on The Challenge?

Every role — whether walking, volunteering or fundraising — helps Julian House support people across the South West.

Here are some of the important ways your sponsorship can make a difference:

£50 of your sponsorship could buy a wholesome meal for men and women staying in our Manvers Street hostel.

£150 could buy a move-on pack to help a former rough sleeper move in to and furnish their own accommodation.

£250 could buy a new home starter pack to help an abused mother and her children into their new accommodation.

£1000 could pay for new tenancy starter packs containing essential household items (e.g. towels, bedding, crockery, pots and pans.) This will support 10 rough sleepers moving into their own accommodation.

£5,000 could pay for 15 socially excluded people to attend a six-week Build-a-Bike course in our Bath Bike Workshop where they can gain the confidence, skills and experience needed to progress towards employment.

£10,000 could pay for 15 women with experience of domestic abuse to access a 12-week educative group programme so that they can exit their abusive situation and avoid abusive relationships in future.

Fundraising Tips

Set yourself a target

Think big. It’s a great way to motivate yourself and encourage your supporters. When you’re close to your target, why not raise the bar? It’ll keep the sponsorship rolling in.

Get social

Tell your friends and family what you are doing on social media and send them the link to your online fundraising page. Take your paper form everywhere with you as you never know who you may see and collect donations as you go.

Make a video

An engaging story makes all the difference, and what better way to spread your fundraising message than through video. Make a short video on your phone or video camera about why you’re fundraising and share it on social media. Remember to tag us in @julianhouseuk

Ask your employers

Many employers will match their employees’ fundraising so don’t forget to ask yours. Also adapt your e-mail signature and add a line at the bottom telling people about the event you are doing. Don’t forget to include a link to your online fundraising page!

Contact your local press

Any extra exposure in the local paper or an appeal on your local radio station can really help. Make sure to tell them your fundraising page address so that readers and listeners can find your page and support you.

Thank people

Saying thank you to your supporters is important and there are many ways you can do so. Say thank you face to face, update the story on your page, send a tweet, update your Facebook status or send emails out to your donors.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid can add 25% to the total that you raise by claiming back tax that has been paid on donations. Remind donors to tick the gift aid box if they pay tax.

Need extra help?

Ask us for any additional resources that you think would help. We can provide Julian House logos, collection tins/buckets, quotes for press releases and more. We are here to help you with your fundraising so feel free to contact us at any time at gavin.osborn@julianhouse.org.uk

Would you like to donate instead?

If you would like to donate instead of raising sponsorship, please donate via our Just Giving page. On average, participants donate between £100-150. Please donate what you can to help us support vulnerable and at-risk people.

We had so much fun and it really is a beautiful circuit of Bath, places I had never seen before with spectacular views that feed the soul. Not to be missed!
